Summer Muse

I can’t tell if I have a harder time with my muse in the summer, or if I’m just having a harder time with my muse this season. I feel like it overwhelms me – when it does – in the fall. Maybe it’s because it’s almost too hot, even here, to go out as much and write. Does anyone else know what I’m talking about?

One of the goals I have in my bullet journal involves submitting ~15 pieces or more to publications before the end of the year. The issue: I’ve only written one poem in the last month, and I wrote it while at the bus stop today.

Anyway, it’s hot and I’m dying for fall, but I can’t just sit around waiting for fall and not writing and keeping my craft up. So instead I have a plan:

  • Edit past pieces a little every week.
  • Go to the library/just get out of the apartment and write and read once a week.

Even if I don’t want to do it, I have to do it. It’s the only way to get my muse back. Good luck to you, as well.
